No, I haven't had it done, but everyone I've ever talked to about it had a different experience. In my case, as my eyes aged, the amount of correction I needed for distance vision decreased. If I had had LASIX done twenty years back, I would have ended up farsighted, which is pretty much what happened anyhow when my cataracts were removed a few years ago. Now I only use "Dollar Tree" reading glasses to read; no more bifocals, no more $250 frames (after a substantial discount because of the way I part my hair), no more trips to the optometrist because I have to see an ophthalmologist every year. Not having to wear glasses all the time makes it well worth while. -- Thanx, *Ray *
This brings up an additional question. Does cataract surgery effect night vision? I get to have that within probably 10 years. Dave, the late Walter Scott Houston was one of the first generation to receive an artificial lens after having his cataract removed. He only needed one eye done, so got to compare it with his natural lens side-by-side. As I recall, he felt his night vision to be much better after the procedure. He also noticed a slight color shift; his natural lens had yellowed with age so blues appeared more greenish. On Tue, Jun 26, 2012 at 7:12 AM, Dunn, David <David.Dunn@supervalu.com>wrote:

David, I had cataract surgery in my left eye and the result is that my left eye has better vision than my right eye. The only problem for me is that for years I used my right eye at the telescope and I forget to use my left eye now although when I do remember, the left eye clearly sees better.
