The clouds parted this afternoon so I grabbed the PST for a quick look. A nice active sun with prominences around most of the limb. I didn't have time to set up the GEM and a better camera, but grabbed this *hand-held cellphone* shot. Might try it again in coming days with a better camera if I have a couple of hours that coincide with blue skies. http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii24/JethroTull1958/ATM/Astro/Sun8282013_...

Thanks Joe! The PST is a pain in the butt to attach a camera to, because of the right-angle geometry of the scope, as well as the limitations of the internal focuser. Tomorrow, weather and time permitting, I want to try it again with a different camera, this time actually attached to the scope and not hand-held. Today's shot was not with the double-stack installed. I want to try that tomorrow. The limited exposure settings available with a cellphone camera add to the frustration. As I was composing images today, a jet flew right in front of the sun. It was really cool in the viewfinder but I wasn't fast enough on the shutter.
