Anyone here see the AWB Dob mentioned in the January S&T "Hot Products for 2014"? I've heard from a few people that the Firstscopes SLAS has been giving away to kids at star parties leave something to be desired. So I'm wondering what the scope experts here think of maybe replacing the Firstscopes with the AWB Dobs. And speaking of the "Hot Products for 2014" article, it surprised me to see no Meade products listed. I'm pretty sure that's the first time that's happened. Surprised me enough to having me going to Meade's website to make sure they are still in business (they are). patrick
The Firstscope, at $50 and slightly less than 3 inches, is a lot less expensive that the AWB, at $200. However, I think I'd get a lot more excited about what I could see in the AWB, than the Firstscope. Could we get a discount for ordering multiples? I don't get Sky & Tel anymore, so I don't know what they said. However, I do like the idea of giving away something a little bigger.. and supporting AWB. How many of the scopes that we give away are being used?
