Re: [Utah-astronomy] Liver & Onions Time Again
I *may* be able to swing the 1st, but the 8th would work better for me, FWIW. I agree, I very much enjoy these gatherings! /R From: Chuck Hards <chuck.hards@gmail.com> To: Utah Astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Sunday, March 12, 2017 1:45 PM Subject: [Utah-astronomy] Liver & Onions Time Again How about Saturday, April 1? I see nothing on the SLAS calendar for that day. Please reply if that date will or won't work for you. From now on, if a SLAS, UVA, or OAS club officer or representative attends (or any other Utah club), I'd like to allow them time to update us on current events in their respective clubs. And I would also like to increase the frequency of L&O meetings this year, if everyone else is on-board with the idea. We're not getting any younger, and I so love the time we spend together. It means a lot to me. Give me your input please. I have to apologize to everyone, I had intended to firm up the date this weekend but suffered a severe allergic reaction to something. I spent Saturday night and early Sunday morning in the ER, covered in hives and looking like a giant raspberry. It came on late Friday night after my wife and went out to eat, so it could be food-related. The hospital gave me a shot of epinephrine immediately and that took away the maddening itch for an hour. Unfortunately it wore-off on the way home and I haven't slept since that blissful hour in the ER, until this morning when massive fatige finally let me drift off at 5AM. The itch woke me back up at 9AM but I feel rested. I'm on a course of prednisone for ten days and must carry an epi-pen until this is diagnosed. I see the allergy specialist tomorrow. The hives are slowly diminishing but the itch is still driving me insane. Topical hydrocortisone does nothing, I've resorted to my childhood itch relief of vinegar and table salt. It works temporarily but really dries-out the skin. The prednisone only gives relief for an hour and I need to save the epi-pen for an emergency, if my airway becomes restricted or I have heart issues. Plus they don't grow on trees, and even epinephrine gives only temporary relief from the itching. Let's go with April 1. Enid can't make that day or the following Saturday, but we'll have another one shortly after. I want to avoid days that SLAS and other clubs have scheduled activities on.
Wow, hope you get better right away! Cory and I are planning on it.
