New Image Posted - M33 Pinwheel Galaxy in Color
Hi all. I finally got some imaging in last night. I decided to get color data to go with my previous postings from Wolf Creek. I went to Heber Valley and added RGB and Ha data to my earlier version of the Pinwheel Galaxy. I think it turned out pretty good..... it may be my personal favorite image in my collection. It is the perfect object for my Tak in Newt mode. Large size and low surface brightness are a good combination for a fast newt. Let me know what you think. I am always interested in getting feedback on my astro-images. I hope someone enjoys them. Here is the link to the Thumbnail version: http://www.utahastronomy.com/album16/Utah_Astronomy_M33_LHaRGB Click the image to see the larger version. Cheers, Tyler
Tyler Good show, like yourself this too is my favorite of your images. Aloha from Maui Rob
Your earlier image of M33 was impressive - this latest is gorgeous. Looking forward to your image of the Trifid after you add color. Norm Tyler Allred wrote:

Thanks Norm. I'm working on the Trifid right now!! I got color data last night for it as well. I also shot M13, which turned out pretty good, especially for only 3 frames of 5 minutes each. I'll post it later too. They just keep getting better and better. Lovely stuff. Thanks to Don C. for pointing out that nifty galaxy in the same field as M13 last year to me; I had never before realized it (couldn't see the forest for the tree). --- Tyler Allred <tylerallred@earthlink.net> wrote:

Tyler, Fabulous as usual. It's also a visually intriguing target when you have some aperture and dark skies. Will you be coming up to Wolf Creek next weekend? ____________________________________________________ Start your day with Yahoo! - make it your home page http://www.yahoo.com/r/hs
Thanks Rich. I really like that Wolf Creek site. WONDERFUL! If I got a final view as nice as one of Tyler's tumbnails, I'd be thrilled! Tyler, you really ought to submit these to Sky and Telescope. Best wishes, Joe
Several of us, who are not able to got to Capitol Reef, are going to Wolf Creek this weekend. Steve Dodds will be there with his 33-inch and one of his friends with a 25-inch. Please let me know if any of you on this list are also coming. Clear Skies Don Colton
I was hoping to come up one of the nights this weekend, and Sunday isn't out of the question due to the Monday Labor Day Holiday, thought the weather forecast may be iffy. Regardless, a peek through a 33" is way too tempting to pass up. What night is Steve planning to come up? -Rich --- "Don J. Colton" <djcolton@piol.com> wrote:

A map is available on the SLAS website. http://www.slas.us/maps/wolfcreek.htm The campground is on the Unita ridgeline that divides the Heber-Kamas-Francis drainage from the Duchense drainage. Get to Francis, go east on State 35 from the four-way stop light that is "downtown" Francis. It's 20 miles to the ridgeline with the last 8 miles being a winding steep uphill grade. The ridge with the campground on the right hand side of the road is unmistakable. If you are going downhill, you've gone too far. On the inbound trip watch out for kids on bikes and the 35 mph zones in Woodland. On the early morning or late night return trip, keep the speed down till you get to Woodland. Invariably there are several deer, coyotes and/or porcupine either next to or on the highway. - Canopus56 __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! I've driven this route many times, and if the little animals that were on the road going up, are still on the road coming down, your biggest problem will be dodging the St. Marks Hospital 'Food Van' that roams the back roads in search of ingredients for their infamous evening mystery meat specials...
