Thanks, Deloy for sharing this. My Grandfather was returning, with others, from a LDS mission in Germany at that same time. The missionary in the group who was responsible for purchasing tickets was supposed to get them all passage on the Titanic, but somehow he screwed up and they didn't get tickets in time. They took passage on a much smaller ship. It struck an iceberg the same night as the Titanic and had to return to Liverpool (I think) for repairs. They received Titanic's SOS but couldn't do anything about it, of course. The Moon/tide angle is very interesting.
