Patrick I have found that there is a slight difference between Celestron and uh Meade. Some accessories match up quite well between the two, some wobble and are just not right. William Optics supplies an adapter for their Crayford focusers, it appears that the focuser fits well to the Meade but is slightly loose on Celestrons, hence the need for an adapter. Isn't Meade a wonderful brand ??? ;^) Aloha Rob

I don't know for sure but I doubt it. I base this on the following: For my 10" Meade SCT, I replaced the visual back to give me a true 2" visual path. I purchased the visual back from Astronomics but they say that the back is for the Meade scopes only and they have a separate back for the Celestron scopes. They say that the difference is due to the threads. Hope this helps, Fletch

Are the threads used for attaching accessories on the back of Meade SCTs the same as those used on C-8s?
