Is anyone planning on using an electronic eyepiece and showing the transit on a small monitor? I keep forgetting that I have one. I may set it up for the benefit of those who are waiting in line to peer through an eyepiece.
Hi Chuck, I'm planning on something like that, if all goes well. Rodger is going to help me make a Baader filter for my12" and if it works correctly I hope to take photos of the transit with my SBIG camera -- images that will show up on my laptop screen as I make them. So they won't be continuous, but people will be able to see the eclipse progressing on my screen. I should say Rodger will help me make the filter housing to go over my scope. I bought the filter itself from the planetarium yesterday. -- Joe ________________________________ From: Joe Bauman <josephmbauman@yahoo.com> To: Utah Astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Thursday, May 31, 2012 9:07 AM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Transit on a TV monitor Hi Chuck, I'm planning on something like that, if all goes well. Sounds good, Joe, you'll get the best of both worlds. A big screen shot as well as images. I thought about bringing my Star Shoot Pro but don't want to lug a computer along. So I'll either use the imaging eyepiece or the HD camcorder. The camcorder will essentially give me the same options as you. I just have to grab the still shots from the video and upload them to the computer later. On Thu, May 31, 2012 at 9:07 AM, Joe Bauman <josephmbauman@yahoo.com> wrote:
