From what I've gathered off of the Internet, the Age of Pisces, which began about the time of Julius Caesar's birth, is supposed to end with the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius in about 2600 AD.

I adhere very strictly to the scientific norms of determination of facts by experiments and tested theory. However, the Hopi tribe also predicts the end of the world, or the end of this age (I believe we are currently in the age of Pisces) on this same date. There are other ancient civilizations that predict this same fate in 2012. Again, I am not one to believe in this kind of speculation, but I do believe the ancients may have known more about our physical world, astronomy and science then we give them credit for. Some ancient civilizations may have known aspects of science that have long been forgotten. Depends on what source you use. I've read in some sources that the age of Aquarius actual begins in 1961 which ushered in the song with the same name and was a part of the hippie movement, 2062 is also often stated as are later dates. On another note Nostradamus's quatrains ran out to the year 3600 and beyond, so at least according to him we have some time. Also allowing for all the errors in our own calendar the year 2000 actually occurred in the mid 1990's, again depending on what reference you use. That being the case the real Mayan 2012 may have already passed a few years ago and we are in the clear. Knowing all this I think I can breath easier now.
