Re: [Utah-astronomy] Re: SPOC sprinkler note
Patrick, The image you linked is in a protected directory, so I could not see. The following diagram shows what I saw. It was too dark to see anything but the closest sprinkler head. http://members.csolutions.net/fisherka/astronote/observed/SPOCWatering7_08_1... And just to be clear, I'm not complaining about it. The park service district will work through their internal problems and get it straightened out. I'm just trying to be helpful by passing on a sprinkler on and off time when I see'm. If it's not needed or wanted info, just say so. Clear Skies - Kurt _______________________________________________ Sent via CSolutions - http://www.csolutions.net
FORBIDDEN. I couldn't get to that file, either. A 25-minute timer "on" cycle is watering for too short of a duration, especially with those sprinkler heads. This alone would dictate the need for watering more frequently than really should be needed. The water isn't penetrating very deeply and the turf doesn't send roots as deeply as it should. The grass isn't as drought-tolerant as it could be. On 7/8/07, Patrick Wiggins <paw@wirelessbeehive.com> wrote:

Is anyone else having this problem? I did not put any protection on the picture so it should be visible to all.

Grumble... How's about my main page located at: http://users.wirelessbeehive.com/~paw/ and/or http://utahastro.info/ Thanks for checking, Patrick
Patrick, Your link was OK. The reason Forbidden occurred was that SPRINKLER01.JPG was on the second line. Once you add that to the link it works find. Overflow of the link to the second line often happens. -----Original Message----- From: utah-astronomy-bounces+djcolton=piol.com@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:utah-astronomy-bounces+djcolton=piol.com@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Patrick Wiggins Sent: Sunday, July 08, 2007 10:49 PM To: Utah Astronomy Cc: Chuck Hards Subject: [Utah-astronomy] Re: SPOC sprinkler note On 08 Jul 2007, at 22:42, Chuck Hards wrote:

It was so long ago, I deleted the link. Erik

For what it's worth, I had no problem accessing it. Quoting Chuck Hards <chuck.hards@gmail.com>:

The picture popped right up on the old Commodore 64. I think the FAA would be interested in this photo. ;) Quoting erikhansen@TheBlueZone.net:

I can't access it either, but that's because I lost the email with the URL .... Joe
Hi Friends, I've been talking by email with our friend Debbie Whitaker, aka Astrodeb. For months she planned an expedition to the Subway in Zion National Park, which requires a reservation and a long wait. Anyway, last week she finally went. But on the last rappel, she slipped on the rocks and broke her ankle in two places and broke her fibula. She managed to keep hiking for another mile and a half, then realized she would not be able to get back out. She was rescued by rangers, who gave her morphine, which greatly helped. She still enjoyed the scenery and now is safe. When I asked if I could notify the group, she sent this reply: Sure, that would be fine. I broke my ankle in two places and fractured the lower fibula. The pain is less than it was a few days ago. I can back off the pain pills a little. The knees are beginning to itch also. No real damage there, just some abrasions. I'll be able to get around better when I get a hard cast. I'm healing slowing but I have the new Harry Potter book to keep me busy. You may want to include this in your e-mail. http://www.nps.gov/zion/parknews/injured-hiker-rescued-from-the-subway.htm Debbie I'm sure she would appreciate a note as she convalesces. Her email is astrodeb@beyondbb.com. -- Joe
