I was over at Kravers (a mom 'n pop restaurant in Stansbury Park) earlier today and was delighted to see them advertising Wednesday's comet watch. Posters in the windows of both of her businesses and small fliers given out in the restaurant and in the bag with take away orders. She frequently advertises the star parties but it's nice to see she's doing the same for the Comet Watch. What's say we hold Wednesday's after Comet Watch Advanced Training at Kravers? patrick

Thanks but it wasn't my idea. All I did was tell her (Joyce, the owner) about the event and she said she'd advertise it. patrick p.s. Or were you commenting on ATS at Kravers after? :) On 09 Mar 2013, at 20:06, Ann House wrote:

Eating at Kravers is a good idea. :-) I figured the advertising was her idea. She has been a great friend off SLAS. A On Mar 9, 2013 8:16 PM, "Patrick Wiggins" <paw@wirelessbeehive.com> wrote:

Will they be open late on a weeknight? On Sat, Mar 9, 2013 at 8:21 PM, Ann House <ann@annhouse.org> wrote:

Yes. They don't close until 10:30 and those already in the restaurant at that time can stay until 11. That should be long enough since the Comet Watch is supposed to end by 9. Oh, and Chuck, you're right about the skies. All of my images tonight (currently at #119 and counting) are very crisp. A good night indeed. patrick On 09 Mar 2013, at 20:46, Chuck Hards wrote:

I'm convinced that the best seeing of the year for Tooele valley is in March. Several years ago in March, Erik and I were using the Grim, just tooling-around the sky and pretty impressed at the seeing and darkness, for SPOC. That same night as we were closing-up, we both saw the North American Nebula with the naked-eye. It was obvious, and as good as I have seen it even from a pristine dark-sky location. I've also seen the Zodiacal Light from near Grantsville several times, always in March (never near the Autumnal Equinox from the same site, for some reason). Again, each time it was easily seen. Pretty impressive, in fact. I just turned around, faced west, and BAM, there it was. Let's hope for the same on Wednesday night.
