Reflection Nebulae M78 and NGC2071 in Orion - New Image
Hi SLAS, I just posted a new image to the SLAS gallery. It is a widefield view of M78 and NGC2071, two reflection nebulae in Orion, just north of his belt. This is a very colorful part of the sky, with subtle reds and blues, and loads of dust and dark lanes. Here is a link to the image in the SLAS gallery: http://www.slas.us/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=1217 The full version is also posted in the "Latest Images" section of my website, with exposure information included. www.allred-astro.com <http://www.allred-astro.com/> Cheers, Tyler Tyler Allred President Allred Restoration, Inc. 5725 W 12000 N Tremonton, UT 84337 801-358-1868 cell <mailto:tylerallred@earthlink.net> tylerallred@earthlink.net _____________________________________________

Loved it as usual. It's amazing just how much nebulosity fills this part of the sky! --- On Tue, 3/3/09, Tyler Allred <tylerallred@earthlink.net> wrote:

Thanks Rich. Just about anywhere you point the scope in Orion you find something interesting. I hope we can manage an observing session this spring or summer. It has been too long! Thanks for the nice comments, Roger and Mike. I am working on a really good version of M101, but it needs a little more TLC. The data were good enough to deserve a really thorough processing effort. I'll probably post it in a couple of days. Cheers, Tyler
