I spoke with Joan at the Bryce Canyon astronomy festival, and yes, she does work at the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. I believe that her office is in Page, AZ. Patrick, I work with Joan here at Glen Canyon in the summers. She's the educational specialist for Glen Canyon. I suggested she should Join the list to stay in touch with a lot of the slas people and others who are into astronomy and in the area. I think she was surprised at the amount of emials and unsubscribed her .gov email. I was under the impression she was going to re subscribe with her home email. We host a lot of astronomy programs here during the summer months. We have a 9.25 cpc and an 11 cpc we use for the programs. We are actually doing a program on Thursday Night - Wahweap Amphitheater and a bigger one on August 4th. The one this Thursday was a short notice thing, we are pushing the one on the 4th pretty hard. When we advertise in advance we often get over 80 people. Which brings me to my next point. If anyone on the list would like to come and join us to help out with astronomy programs please do! We are more than willing to have some experienced folk show up with telescopes. I know most of you don't live close, but if you're going to be around shoot myself or Joan an email and let us know your coming.
