Looks like it's a piece of plastic that fell off the descent stage. So I was partially right, I thought it was something that fell off the sound stage... http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/news.php?release=2012-316 Dan -- Daniel Holmes, danielh@holmesonics.com "Laugh while you can, monkey boy!" -- Lord John Whorfin
Yeah, they speculated on that two days ago. The wind blows on Mars, and earthly litter tends to get around. Go figure. We are now littering our third planetary body, as a species. (Room for argument here, go for it if you are a stickler for detail). I'm deliberately spreading the shame, rather than just fessing-up as "American". ;-) On Oct 11, 2012 4:11 PM, "Daniel Holmes" <danielh@holmesonics.com> wrote:

Jupiter- nothing left but molecules. No litter left at all. Asteroids? Big rocks. Like high-school graffiti on a boulder. I'll give you Titan, for the moment, and only provisionally. Huygens was worth it, IMHO. ;-) On Oct 11, 2012 4:23 PM, "Daniel Holmes" <danielh@holmesonics.com> wrote:
