Sunspots: 4 February 2014 ~ 11:30 MST
The best photo I could get of the sunspots this morning. I hope the Flickr link works. I’ve had trouble with it this afternoon. Dave http://www.flickr.com/photos/78046474@N06/12309196776/
Pretty darn good shot, Dave! What filter are you using? Or is the color added in processing? On Tue, Feb 4, 2014 at 12:21 PM, Dave Gary <davegary@me.com> wrote:

Chuck, I just use a glass solar filter from Orion. I hit “sepia” in iPhoto because it seems to bring out the detail of the spots a little better. Otherwise, the original image is orange in color. That’s about as fancy as I get in post-processing. I don’t even take the time to invert and rotate the image. Dave On Feb 4, 2014, at 12:25, Chuck Hards <chuck.hards@gmail.com> wrote:

Thanks, Joe. It’s pretty cloudy here, today. Looks like some storm is creeping into town. Dave On Feb 5, 2014, at 1:39, Joe Bauman <josephmbauman@yahoo.com> wrote:

Dave, May we use this photo - giving appropriate credit to you - on the Clark Planetarium Facebook page for a quick blurb about "things to do with those eclipse glasses you bought for the 2012 eclipse"? Sure. However, I used a small telescope for this photo. You can see the sunspots with the naked eye, though. However, the spots are in the lower right quadrant of Sun when looking with solar glasses. The telescope and camera invert everything and I’m too lazy to fix it in the photos I post. Dave On Feb 4, 2014, at 12:45, Seth Jarvis <SJarvis@slco.org> wrote:
