Tripod bags, solar filters on sale
I was at Clark Planetarium yesterday and noticed that they had some Orion padded scope/tripod bags as well as a good assortment of solar filters on clearance for 50% off in case anyone's interested. Craig
I just posted my most recent image. Trifid nebula. I am very pleased with the light gathering and image resolution that this 254mm F4.7 has. The field is also nice and flat with the Baader MPCC. Enjoy! http://www.slas.us/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=2172&g2_imageViewsIndex=1
David, you're a witch! I'm getting greener with envy when I see your images. Ha, Thanks for the compliments guys :) Will be more to come. I think the next target for me will be the elephant trunk nebula. Cheers David Patrick Wiggins wrote:

That's a fine picture, David. Makes me eager to get out imaging once again, assuming I can cure my 'scope's pointless (i.e., doesn't point where I tell it to) attitude. Joe, I had some issues with my eq-g doing that after rebuilding it. Its a matter of tweaking it out. Once you get a good alignment, it usually does a good job of remembering where it is from home position. Good luck on the cure! David Joe Bauman wrote:

Many thanks, David. I'm going to try a total reset and then retraining. That should burn up most or all of one night, but it should be worth it. Patrick, I would love to, but I wont be up that way until the 19th, as I am still in southern UT. I work at lake powell all summer. After I get up that way I would be more than willing. Cheers David Patrick Wiggins wrote:
