As some of you may have heard a member of SLAS will be showing the sci- fi classic The Day the Earth Stood Still at this Saturday's star party at SPOC. Ought to be fun. On the other hand, while at the multiplex today I learned a remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still will be released later this year. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0970416/ I sure hope they do a better job with it than was made with the remake of War of the Worlds. I feel a disturbance in the Force... patrick
It will NEVER beat the original. They will over do it like they did with that stupid 15 mile wide flying saucer on "Independance Day". How goofy was that? Quoting Patrick Wiggins <paw@wirelessbeehive.com>:

Maybe they can use the robot from "Lost in Space". As long as they don't cast Tom Cruise, Will Smith, or John Travolta it will be OK.

And as long as they don't cast Keanu Reeves...oh, wait, he's got a bit role in it... ...just freakin' Klaatu! On Aug 21, 2008, at 8:42 AM, erikhansen@TheBlueZone.net wrote:
