(from Sky & Telescope's on line site) A coronal mass ejection (CME) is en route to the Earth. The impact of this disturbance is expected to occur during the early evening hours of January 21st (Wednesday night). Auroral activity could intensify to moderately strong levels, and North America is well positioned to observe much of the activity. This aurora alert will remain in place for about 48 hours, so the possibility is good that auroras may also be visible Thursday night. Updates may be posted on the Solar Terrestrial Dispatch Web site under the heading "Astro Alert News." http://www.spacew.com Patrick
