Just watched the shuttle and station fly over. The much brighter station came over first with the shuttle (much fainter and noticeably whiter) about 75 seconds later. Possibly an optical illusion but both to the eye and through 7x35 binoculars the station appeared larger than the shuttle. The shuttle appeared much more starlike. Both NASA ( http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdata/sightings ) and Heavens Above ( http://www.heavens-above.com ) are calling for much better passes for northern Utah Wednesday and Friday nights and a very nice pass for southern Utah (Cindy, Jerry, Debbie?) Saturday night. patrick p.s. to "Mr. Anonymous", nice try but, no this is not me earlier in life <grin>: http://www.gamesfather.com/video/BestFQay-kz67NI.htm

Well, isn't the station supposed to be larger than the shuttle?
Considerably larger, actually. I guess I just figured with it being so far away I would not notice the difference. patrick
Hi Patrick,
Does NASA use union plumbers? Does the Astronaut training include proper use of the personal hygiene plastic bag? That has to be more than they signed up for. Erik Just watched the shuttle and station fly over.

NASA Astronauts undergo a lot of training underwater. If the trainig is anything like SCUBA instructors teach, then you are okay to pee in your wetsuits. However, if the other thing happens, you are on your own, literally! ;) I think even the predators of the sea would bypass you for something a little less pungent. Quoting erikhansen@TheBlueZone.net:
