It sounds as if there is a small handful of people interested in doing a swap meet (as long as nobody gets cold). So why don't we have people post what they have on the list? Everyone gets to participate and everybody stays warm. I think it would work as long as all the offers and follow ups are handled off list. What do you guys think? Paul.
Sounds like a good idea to me. Bill B. On Dec 29, 2004, at 12:47 PM, Paul Johnson wrote:

I much prefer to see the items in person and haggle over the price on the spot. There is a social aspect to this also. It's fun to get together with the Ogden guys and others that may show up. Siegfried Quoting William Biesele <bill@biesele.net>:

Like Siegfired, I'd prefer to have an actual event where folks can meet and talk. However, until that happens, here's some of what I'm offering: Celestron radial guider http://www.astromag.co.uk/guider.html Astro-Physics dual axis drive corrector (includes first generation auto guider) B-3 Flying Jacket http://www.flightjacket.com/detail.aspx?ID=12 Paramount GT-1100 robotic telescope mount Patrick
Siegfired??? "fired"?? No, I'm working actually, thank you very much. Siegfried ----- Original Message ----- From: "Patrick Wiggins" <paw@trilobyte.net> To: "Utah Astronomy" <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wednesday, December 29, 2004 2:20 PM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Swap Meet

I have a nice, warm, heated hangar in Woods Cross. I would be happy to host such a swap meet, but under some strict conditions. They are as follows: 1. It would have to be done on a Friday night. 2. In order to get sufficient room inside, I need to move my airplane outside. The friday night must not be on a day when there is precipitation. 3. The swap meet would be cancelled on short notice for precipitation. (See #2) 4. Although I have running water, I have no bathroom. We would have to forgo this convenience. 5. People would neet to bring their own tables. 6. This would all have to fit in the space available - about 35' X 25'. 7. I get 50% of the proceeds, and there will be a $25.00 cover charge at the door. (Just kidding!) Interest? Brent --- Paul Johnson <johnsopc@gmail.com> wrote:

Not to snub Brent's hanger, but I really would like to have a spot where last minute rain won't cause problems and that has rest rooms and tables on site. To that end I did a bit of checking and found such a place up by the U of U that fills the bill. But we could only get it on a Tuesday or Thursday evening. Any interest? Patrick
