Clay Sherrod has images from 2 nights ago posted on the ALPO Mars page, and although the storm is on the edge of the disk of the planet, it certainly appears to be growing fast. I think I'll try and get out of bed early tomorrow morning for a peek, just in case this storm keeps growing and sticks around a while... Now, if it does, all is not lost. S&T has an article on locating Phobos and Deimos in the current issue. If you have never spotted the moons of Mars, now is a great time to try. I have personaly never seen them in anything smaller than a 10" scope, but I've heard and read that it's possible. An occulting bar at the eyepiece's focal plane is mandatory, unless you have a few Ramsdens in your eyepiece box. C. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? SBC Yahoo!
