Saturday night I went out to gaze at the moon and relax for a little bit. On my way to the yard I recalled all the "blue moon" hype and had to chuckle at "much ado about nothing"... Imagine my surprise when I looked up at a salmon-pink full moon! Apparently there was enough smoke in the air from local forest & brush fires to significantly tint the moon. Did anyone else in the area notice the tint? __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Address AutoComplete - You start. We finish. http://promotions.yahoo.com/new_mail
I was leaving my brother's house around 11:30pm Saturday night and quickly took notice of the colored moon. I would describe the color I saw as a medium amber. What amazed me was the moons altitude. I can't remember ever seeing a colored moon so high in the sky. Where are these fires? Dave On Tuesday, August 3, 2004, at 08:46 AM, Chuck Hards wrote:

I missed the moon - slaved at my work until after midnight. I think the fire affecting our sky is the one in Spanish Fork Canyon. Anyone up for the gravel pit this weekend. Moon rise on Friday is about midnight and on Saturday (Sunday morning) is 12:19 AM. We would probably get two good hours each night. Weather.com forecast for both nights for Park City is clear. Clear Skies Don Colton
Don, I might be interested in it Friday night. Thanks, Joe
I'm up for it Saturday (I have to pick my daughter up from the airport on Friday). Rich --- "Don J. Colton" <djcolton@piol.com> wrote:
