To follow up. Based on schedules and stuff those that can go would prefer to go to the Pit n Pole Location. Here are the directions from Lehi to the Pit. http://goo.gl/maps/Yv7Sj IF the Pit is occupied then we will go to the link in this location which is just south of the Pit. http://goo.gl/maps/EGtl4 The reason for the change is clouds come in by 1:00a.m. to 2:00a.m., this is only 40 minutes from home (for me) and closer for those who live farther away, still offering decent dark skies at Blue under the improved LP maps and it makes sense for more people. I will state that on my property south-east of Vernon the night was OUTSTANDING! One of those rare nights during the year and yep, one of those 2 nights after the storm that I have found is so true (2 nights after a storm we tend to have a great night in the fall and winter where transparency and seeing are outstanding).
Sounds like a great night last night, Jay. I am green with envy, but being on call for the next several days keeps me closer to home so I cannot enjoy the dark skies at more remote sites. Let's hope for great skies in November! Hope you and whomever joins you at Pit-N-Pole have a super night tonight.
