Congrats to Patrick
I do hope it turns out to be your own discovery of a SN! No popping of corks just yet. It's still just considered a possible supernova (PSN). But at least it's PSN status is now online: http://www.rochesterastronomy.org/supernova.html#PSNJ11473508+5558147 and http://www.cbat.eps.harvard.edu/unconf/tocp.html (bottom of list). I think it only becomes official when listed here: http://www.cbat.eps.harvard.edu/lists/RecentSupernovae.html But it does not look like that page has been updated since March. patrick On 18 Jun 2015, at 16:17, Joe Bauman via Utah-Astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> wrote:

Having looked carefully at other images of NGC3888, I have no doubt that it's a supernova. What a find!
