Does anyone know any information on the New Horizon's mission? That would be really interesting to find out what they find, if it's approved. I hear a lot of mixed comments on it, funding problems, time gate, and other such problems. But I've also heard it's been approved from a few places. Does anyone know what the current status of the mission is? Personally I would have preferred an orbiter, but a flyby does allow exploration of the Kuiper belt. Funding has been approved: http://stacks.msnbc.com/news/877710.asp?cp1=1#BODY Of course, I'd really like to have seen a Europa orbiter/lander in addition to the Pluto/Kuiper mission but that's another story.
