Many years ago I picked up a "sturdy" tripod I had planned for a comet hunting project. The comet hunting part never happened but I still have the tripod and I think it's time it finds a new home. Now when I say "sturdy" I mean STURDY. It's military surplus, all metal and weighs nearly as much as I do. Any interest? It's free but you have to come to Stansbury Park to pick it up. patrick

I really only want to use it for the star party at Zion this Monday. That's assuming it has 1/4" screw for a camera foot, or a slot/hole that I could run a bolt thru. If it meets any of those, and Josh doesn't mind to wait until next week, I'd love to use it. On Fri, May 11, 2012 at 10:58 PM, Josh <mountaindrifter@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi, Josh is going to pick it up before the star party. You might want to check with him there to see about borrowing it (and to see if you really want to try to work with something that big). patrick Sent from my iPad On May 11, 2012, at 23:35, Chrismo <djchrismo@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Josh, It's all yours but you might change your mind when you actually see (and try to lift) it. It really is massive. Ring me at 435.882.1209 and we'll work out the details. patrick Sent from my iPad On May 11, 2012, at 22:58, Josh <mountaindrifter@gmail.com> wrote:

Well, I don't know about "massive" -- Patrick said it might weigh more than he does, but how much does he weigh?? ________________________________ From: Patrick Wiggins <paw@wirelessbeehive.com> To: Utah Astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Friday, May 11, 2012 11:47 PM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Anyone need a tripod?
