The Moon Tonight - 2/8 9:00pm (2/10 3:00 UTC)
Rukl's terminator position tables at 218-219 of Rukl's Atlas shows the terminator should be at about 51.7 deg W lunar longitude at 3:00 UTC 2/10/2006 (8:00PM 2/9, tonight). Some potential lunar objects along that longitude line are: 1) Crater Carpenter (60km dia.) 69.9 deg N, 50.9 deg W, Rukl Map 2 2) Rima Sharp (150km rille) 48 deg N - 40 deg N, 50 deg W, large apeture object, north south running rille, Rukl Map 9 3) Aristarchus complex ~24 deg N, 50 deg W. Valles Schroter looks particularly well placed for the terminator to cross the valley between 3:00-5:00 UTC, considering local topography. Rukl Map 18 4) Rima Marius (250km rille) 17 deg N, 49 deg W, large apeture object, Rukl Map 18 5) Oceanus Procellarum ripples 12 deg N - 0 deg N, 52 deg W - 44 deg W, basin structure, Rukl Map 29 6) Mons Hansteen (30km dia mtn) 12 deg S, 50 deg W, brillantly light as terminator approaches, Rukl Map 41 7) Crater Billy (46km dia) 13.8 deg S, 50.1 deg W, flooded crater with dark floor material, Rukl Map 31 8) Crater Hansteen (45km dia) 12 deg S, 52 deg W, Rukl Map 41 9) Crater Schickard (227 km dia) 44.4 deg S, 54.6 deg W, Rukl Map 62 10) Crater Zucchius (67 km dia) 61.4 deg S, 50.3 deg W, Rukl Map 71 - Canopus56 (Kurt) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
