Right now I'm reading "One Man's Wilderness - An Alaskan Odyssey" (there's that word again!) by Sam Keith, from the jounals of the late Richard Proenneke. (Excellent book, highly, highly, highly recommneded, as well as the companion DVD "Alone in the Wilderness"...some of you may have seen it on PBS) In it, Proenneke claims a relationship between the coldest temperatures and full moon in winter.
