Re: [Utah-astronomy] Moon, Saturn, and ISS
Hi Richard, The exact same thing happened at the observatory opening star party last night. As I tracked the ISS using the telrad on a 10" f6, half a dozen different people saw just what you described: two distinct rectangular shapes. I had never seen this myself before last night!! Several people had a hard time believing what they were seeing. Wayne A. Sumner Math/Physics/Astronomy/Engineering Boy's Tennis Coach Northridge High School Davis School District (801) 402-8610

I had my trusty 6" vintage Dynascope out last night in the driveway, showing my daughter's boyfriend the lovely crescent moon and edge-on rings of Saturn, when I happened to notice the ISS flying over. I managed to swing the scope up and get a second or two of focus on that very bright pass, able to make out the twin rectangular solar arrays in that brief moment @ 75x; pretty neat! _______________________________________________ Utah-Astronomy mailing list Utah-Astronomy@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy Visit the Photo Gallery: http://www.slas.us/gallery2/main.php Visit the Wiki: http://www.utahastronomy.com
