WOW! Cograts to Patrick for today's Earth Science Picture of the Day on a NASA site: Cool view from his plane showing ice patterns on Utah Lake. And my good friend Ray Boren had yesterday's EPOD. I'm proud of both -- two friends on EPOD, two days in a row. That's remarkable. Patrick's view: http://epod.usra.edu/ To see Ray's, hit the "previous" button at the top left. Way to go, both! -- Joe

Nice shot Patrick. But isn't that really Ganymede? And just how did you get there? Kim

Shhhh, in order to get the ride I had to promise not to tell. Speaking of Dave's associates, while at the Wendover airport the other day a small turboprop landed. Emblazoned on the side was United States of America (aka Air Force One). No registration number, just a military serial number. So the aircraft came to a stop and out walks a bunch of guys all in black. Even the equipment and brief cases they were carrying were black. I asked one of them who they were and one replied "we're with Abraham Lincoln". Dave was not with them. And then they boarded one of the casino vans and headed for who knows where. Odd. patrick On 03 Feb 2012, at 14:16, Joe Bauman wrote:

In case anyone is interested, the biggest meteorite social event is underway from Tucson AZ right now. It's the annual Meteorite Men Birthday Party. It just happens that the Meteorite Men on TV have almost the same birthday and it coincides with the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, so another big name in the meteorite community broadcasts it live. It's on right now if you'd like to see it. Will last about 3 hours or so. Thanks! -Barrett N9286J

Thanks Joe. As Kim pointed out, it did look like Ganymede. That's what got me to take the picture. Very off-worldly. patrick On 03 Feb 2012, at 13:32, Joe Bauman wrote:
