I think I mentioned that Tyler suggested I try longer exposures and to bin 1x1. The earlier version was a total of 1 hour binned 2x2. So last night I thought I'd try for 2 hours binned 1x1. But when the two hours was up things were going so well I just let it run and eventually ended up with 5 hours. http://www.slas.us/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=3314 If you go to that link and then click on the image you'll get the full 2 MB version. Despite there having been a lot of Moon nearby and some cirrus clouds early on the end result (thanks to Tyler's processing magic) worked out pretty well. Like the last time the image consists of my luminance data to which Tyler has added color data from a picture he took a while ago. See the picture he took the color from on http://allred-astro.com/gpage2.html (3rd image from the top). Tyler's going to try to get some HA data to add a bit more color but probably not for a while. Clear skies, patrick
Wonderful, Patrick! What was each exposure? Thanks. Tyler is a master at processing. I don't have data on Tyler's color exposures. My data consisted of 30 ten minute luminance exposures, 30 ten minute darks and 15 9" flats. patrick On 24 Apr 2010, at 22:08, Joe Bauman wrote:

Patrick, That is fantastic! I am hoping to image this not to long from now :) Cheers David Patrick Wiggins wrote:

Thanks David. It was really hard "work" pointing the scope at the target, starting the autoguider and coming back a few hours later to look at the images. :) Say, can you image in hydrogen alpha? If so, maybe you could grab the h-alpha data Tyler would like to add to the image. patrick On 24 Apr 2010, at 23:05, David Rankin wrote:

ha ha. I know how that goes. The work for me comes in setup and breakdown...processing. My camera is modified to shoot Ha, but I don't have the filter to limit it to just Ha. I need to get one. If I get one before I shoot, I'll be glad to hand over the data :) Patrick Wiggins wrote:
