way, way OT -- but I want my friends to know.
Joe, I don't have a Kindle or I would have downloaded it. At $3 it's a steal. I did "look inside" and read about Macintosh, the blacksmith. I enjoyed the bio. Well written and entertaining. At least I think so. I would love to talk to you about the Battle of Saratoga, expecially the first engagement at Stillwater. I have an ancestor, Daniel Clark, a captain who died there. Actually, he was shot twice and survived, at least long enough to be transported to Vermont where his family was and died there. I got me a personal "source" for information on that battle :) You - if you haven't figure it out lol
Many thanks! Saratoga was an extremely interesting battle, in which Benedict Arnold, of all people, saved the day for the Patriots. One of the veterans in my daguerreotypes, Simeon Hicks, fought in the Battle of Bennington, which was an important engagement because it was a crippling blow to the British before Saratoga. After Bennington his unit went to Stillwater, but I don't think he fought again. -- Joe ________________________________ From: "jcarman6@q.com" <jcarman6@q.com> To: Utah Astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wednesday, February 8, 2012 11:15 AM Subject: [Utah-astronomy] way, way OT -- but I want my friends to know. For those of you who don't have a kindle, you can download the Kindle software to your PC, Mac, iPod, Android, etc device and be able to read Joe's book… Dan On Feb 8, 2012, at 4:47 PM, Joe Bauman wrote:
