Hi all, I'm considering going to the Pit N Pole that I've heard about on the newsgroup from time to time. But I've never been there and I am hoping someone could tell me where it is -- also, I think there's a map on the Internet but I don't have the URL. Is it pretty dark? I have seen some glorious astrophotos taken there, so I assume it's a nice place. Please respond asap as I'm trying to decide where to go and if I head to the Wedge, I'll need to take off soon. Best wishes, Joe
Never mind -- I found directions and a map by searching the Utah Astronomy archives. Thanks, Joe
For anyone else that may want to head out there, you can find the directions here: http://www.uvaa.org/sitedirections/PitnPole.html (I'm going to be at a family reunion this weekend at Sundance otherwise I'd probably join you Joe). It's pretty dark out there; what I like best is that it has a great Southern Horizon, and is less than an hour's drive from my home in Utah County. --- Joe Bauman <bau@desnews.com> wrote:

By the way, could someone on the list that knows how to reach them contact the Warners and have them put these directions on the slas.us website? Sometimes the uvaa.org site is down -- the IP address isn't static and will sometimes get changed without warning. Thanks, Rich --- Richard Tenney <retenney@yahoo.com> wrote:

Pit N Pole - sounds like a Texas BBQ joint. ;-) Joe Bauman <bau@desnews.com> wrote: Hi all, I'm considering going to the Pit N Pole that I've heard about on the newsgroup from time to time.
