Re: [Utah-astronomy] Skygazer's almanac 2008
Chuck, yup, the same thing happened to me. I called the 800 number 1 1/2 months ago to have a copy sent, which they said they would do, but nothing ever happened. I called again a couple weeks ago; their response was that they were out of stock in the past, but were in stock now and they would send a copy - nothing received yet. Finally gave up and made a B/W copy at the library. Hi all. I just added two new images to my gallery. They are pics of a great sun pillar that I photographed tonight in the Tremonton, Utah area. I hope someone enjoys seeing them. Here are the links: Wide View http://tinyurl.com/ypu3bd Closeup http://tinyurl.com/23mnej Cheers, Tyler
On the way to work this morning, every light had a pillar above it, including oncoming car headlights. Neat effect. Would be worth keeping an eye on the setting sun for as long as conditions remain like this. On Jan 21, 2008 10:32 PM, Tyler Allred <tylerallred@earthlink.net> wrote:

Nice sun pillar at sunset tonight. Even with broken clouds, a very strong pillar about 10-15 degrees high. Hopefully I get a repeat of the "headlight pillar" effect during tomorrow morning's commute. On Jan 22, 2008 7:21 AM, Chuck Hards <chuck.hards@gmail.com> wrote:

This morning I saw a "reverse" sun pillar. The pillar extended below the sun instead of above. There was no pillar above at all. It was just as strong as the typical sun pillar. I have never noticed a reversed sun pillar before. Ground fog has now obscured my view, as of the time of this writing. Anybody else ever seen a "reverse" sun pillar?
