This is just a preliminary image -- I haven't worked much on the color yet. http://www.slas.us/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=5911&g2_imageViewsIndex=1
Terrific, Joe, can't wait for the finished color version! Are you using a fork mount? There's just a touch of elongation in the star images. Or was it a bit breezy? I admire you shooting at longish focal lengths, those are the toughest to guide with a portable setup. I was using a fork and wedge. The elongation may have been because of one or both of two reasons: imperfect collimation or the fact that I forgot to tighten my guide scope eyepiece tube and it was a little loose. I'm not sure the color will be adequate but I'll try it. If it's not good enough I won't post it. Nice, Joe. I’ve been meaning to get out and image with the fork-mount 10", but last night and tonight are clouded over and windy. Maybe I can get a crack at it tomorrow night. Dave On Jul 2, 2014, at 12:49, Joe Bauman via Utah-Astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> wrote:
