opinions and SLAS membership
It seems odd that opinions about SLAS policy are voiced by people who are no longer members. Including sugestions for the current president. No wonder no one wants the job. Come on guys it's only 20 dollars and you can do it on PayPal. DT
I honestly would like to be active in SLAS again, but my parents are getting old and I'm now spending two nights a week helping to care for them, and rarely find that I have a free evening to make the hour drive to SLC or even to observe nowadays. :( --- On Wed, 9/2/09, daniel turner <outwest112@yahoo.com> wrote:

I think I earned the right to voice my opinion some time ago. And, frankly, my financial situation is none of your business. Kim

Are those sort of comments really something that needs to be shared with the entire forum? Figured "Utah Astronomy" would be more, astronomy related. David
Opinions and ....#$@&, everybody has one. I checked the SLAS Constitution (and the US) and you don't need to be SLAS member to have an opinion. Perhaps we should amend it and ask for extra money to be allowed to express opinions.
It did mention membership is the domain of the Sec/Tres..... no wonder no wants be it. So, Dan if really want to track SLAS membership we can always use a new Sec/Tres. Its easy PayPal does the updates automatically and sends you alerts. It seems odd that opinions about SLAS policy are voiced by people who are

Isn't this list only supposed to be for SLAS members? Or is that just the newsletter.. On Thu, Sep 3, 2009 at 1:56 PM, <erikhansen@thebluezone.net> wrote:

This list is for all astronomers, there are even non astronomers from the local media on it. Sometimes it seems that the list is a little SLAS centric though.
