Maybe the prevailing wind, which piled the dune toward the left, also polished the rocks on that side a bit more. Who knew Mars could look so ordinary? The ones on the left looking large blocky, windblown and exposed while on the right I see squarish flat stones with sharp edges littering the hill with some exposed older (?) rocks.
