There was a good article in yesterday's Trib on the 10th anniversary of the Clark Planetarium. I am going to the event on the 11th. Seth has reserved me 2 spots at the generous faculty/staff rate. Everything I have attended at the Clark has been top-notch and worth my time and money. My favorite was meeting "Q" i.e John de Lancie. He liked my camera. I spent some time at the Hayden Planetarium in NYC last week. It was a must-see for me, but frankly, I wasn't overwhelmed. I saw a show about the formation of stars developed by NASA and it was so-so. Honestly, there is more going on at our own Clark! And the shows at the Clark have never disappointed. What have been your experiences with the Hayden? Was I there on an off-day? -A
OTOH, I've met him at the Clark Planetarium. On Mon, Apr 1, 2013 at 11:49 AM, Chuck Hards <chuck.hards@gmail.com> wrote:
If you didn't meet Neil deGrasse Tyson, you were there on an off-day.

I would have said "Oh poop!" had I been there (actually I would have probably said something else, but it's a family list-serve). That would be my primary reason to go there, with just the history of the place a close second. I'm not wowed by high-tech shows much.
