I hope all of my friends and astronomy acquaintances have a happy, enjoyable Thanksgiving Day holiday. Though I've had a lot of personal setbacks in the last few years, I still have many more things to be thankful for. Life is good, on the whole. Now, back to astronomy. Sorry to waste the time of those who only want to post about the world's second-oldest profession. ;o)
Yes, all, please accept my wishes for a comfortable, gracious, not-too-glutinous Thanksgiving! ________________________________ From: Chuck Hards <chuck.hards@gmail.com> To: Utah Astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wednesday, November 23, 2011 6:12 PM Subject: [Utah-astronomy] OT: Happy Thanksgiving I hope all of my friends and astronomy acquaintances have a happy, enjoyable Thanksgiving Day holiday. Oh, the second-oldest profession isn't bad. It's the world's oldest that you need to avoid... On Nov 26, 2011 3:45 PM, "Larry Holmes" <larry@kijoda.com> wrote:

Caltech offers weekly seminars in the evening for anyone in Pasadena who is interested. The all-time attendance record for such talks was set by a talk entitled "The World's Oldest Profession." The speaker (E. T. Bell) claimed that he had no idea that anyone would think that it was anything other than Mathematics. Of course, maybe that is what you intended to avoid.
