Animation made from 45-60 second exposures, each taken 60 seconds apart, between 0644 and 0824 UT today (2011 JUN 25). A bit brighter than in yesterday's animation but still pretty faint. Moves from upper left to lower right. http://users.wirelessbeehive.com/~paw/temp/2011MD-02.GIF Details: C-14 operating at f/5.5, ST10-XME binned 3x3, -10°, clear filter. FOV ~18x26 arc minutes. North up, east to left. patrick 718
Patrick, Great sequence! Personally, I'm curious about some of the other many movements in the series, are any of those identified? There is one especially bright one near the bottom for a couple of frames. Keep'em coming! -Barrett -----Original Message----- From: utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Patrick Wiggins Sent: Saturday, June 25, 2011 4:03 AM To: utah astronomy utah astronomy listserve Subject: [Utah-astronomy] 2011 MD animation 2011 JUN 25 Animation made from 45-60 second exposures, each taken 60 seconds apart, between 0644 and 0824 UT today (2011 JUN 25). Hi, Unless I missed something the only thing moving that's real is 2011 MD. The rest if just random noise. Mine is an older imager which suffers from lots of "Kodak stars" (as we called such things in the days of film photography). I removed most of them but if I scrub the images any harder the good stuff suffers. I'm at SPOC tonight but if I get home early enough I'll try for another sequence then. patrick On 25 Jun 2011, at 10:24, Barrett wrote:
