Re: [Utah-astronomy] M108 and M97 - Together Again
you got some other little bitty galaxies too! That's wonderful, Tyler. -- Joe --- On Thu, 4/9/09, Tyler Allred <tylerallred@earthlink.net> wrote: From: Tyler Allred <tylerallred@earthlink.net> Subject: [Utah-astronomy] M108 and M97 - Together Again To: utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com Date: Thursday, April 9, 2009, 6:31 PM Hello again SLAS. This posting is a follow-up to my recent image of the Owl Nebula. I had some LRGB data of M108 and M97 that I collected several weeks ago, but hadn't processed yet. That data was collected using the Finger Lakes CM-10 camera, with smaller pixels. I decided to add my recent hydrogen alpha and O3 data to the older data to make a new image. I like the way it turned out. The CM-10 uses the KAF3200XME chip (the same as an ST10 from SBIG), which does not have anti-blooming gates. The brighter stars in this image bloomed almost off the chip, and had to be repaired. I am not very skilled at that, so those stars look a little weird. But, on the up side, that chip is very sensitive and the image shows many small galaxies and such. Here is a link to my website. http://www.allred-astro.com/gpage8.html Click on the images a few times to see the full resolution versions. This one is fun to look around to find all the little goodies besides the main targets. Enjoy! Cheers, Tyler _____________________________________________ _______________________________________________ Utah-Astronomy mailing list Utah-Astronomy@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy Visit the Photo Gallery: http://www.slas.us/gallery2/main.php Visit the Wiki: http://www.utahastronomy.com
