I think many religious people, for whatever reason, are insecure in feeling that if their children are given a choice, they might stray. I'm confident that we (if we choose to) can teach our kids about God and bring them up in such a way that when they are taught good science, like evolution, stellar mechanics, etc, it will all make total sense to them.
