For those who may not have seen yesterday's news conference, here's the scoreboard the folks at NASA/JPL showed: http://www.spaceflight101.com/msl-scoreboard.html Of course that reflects all attempts by all nations to get to Mars. Happily the Earth score for recent missions is quite a bit better. Go MSL! patrick
IIRC, missions are at 50% for rovers. Go MSL! Dan On Aug 5, 2012, at 4:00 PM, Patrick Wiggins <paw@wirelessbeehive.com> wrote:

Either as long as the rpm is constant without a regulator. ________________________________ From: Chuck Hards <chuck.hards@gmail.com> To: Utah Astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Sunday, August 5, 2012 7:56 PM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Need a motor AC or DC? Brent, I bought one at Edmund Scientific. It's specifications showed that it was one RPM but when I put it under load on the barn door tracker I built, it was one revolution in 63 seconds. I did some calculations and cut the length of the board down (changed the distance from the hinge to the center of the curved threaded rod) which corrected for the error and worked great. I have taken up to 5-minute exposures with good tracking and have taken multiple exposures over as long as 25-minutes and it tracks very well. Thanks Rodger C. I'll know in the morning who is paying-off whom. We can settle-up at L&O if not sooner. 4 AM will be here all too soon. Good night! On Aug 5, 2012 5:08 PM, "Daniel Holmes" <danielh@holmesonics.com> wrote:
