Re: [Utah-astronomy] Re: Lou Mayo talk for local teachers
Patrick, Astronomy clubs in school take two parts, the teacher, and the amateur astronomers to work with them. Many interested amateur astronomers are already attending the conference. It's the teachers, the other half of the equation, that we needed to bring in, and help them afford to be able to work with Dr. Mayo. Opening it up to everyone leads to the possibility of far more people than the room can hold and all of the associated logistic and financial problems. This seemed to be the best compromise. If you (or others) know of specific cases, feel free to contact me privately, and we can probably make it work. At 01:15 PM 7/24/2002 -0600, you wrote:
Hi Sieg and all, <SNIP> No doubt there are others out there who would be interested in forming such clubs but who are not teachers. That's why I asked if persons must be teachers in order to attend.
Cheers!
