I’m going to assume you have a solar filter for the Dob. In that case, all you should need is a t-ring for the Nikon, and maybe an adapter barrel depending on your focuser. I’ve got an 8” Orion Newt that the T-ring from Orion sells screws directly into the focuser. Works pretty well. I am thinking of taking pictures of the Mercury transit on 9 May 16. I have a Nikon D5500 DSLR that I would like to use to capture this event. Any suggestions on what type of mount I should use to mate the camera to a 10" Dob? All ideas and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
