There are NOT two points of view, *at least as far as my post and this thread is concerned,* and I can't support a "can't we all get along attitude" milktoast attitude for those who don't get the gist of the original post. Nobody espoused using "cheap" eyepieces for public star parties, and whomever came away with that impression is wrong or had a personal agenda, for whatever reason(s). It was simply a misunderstanding, of that I am fairly sure. Most of the disagreement on this list almost always comes from misunderstanding. And not making any attempt to clarify (or justify, at least), one's original impression. Email, forums, and any digital discourse is about the WORST venue for give-and-take, meaningfull discussion that I have ever encountered, but we are pretty much stuck with the on-line venue, it seems. At least for now. Bring on the drouds. It can only help. Great story though Jay. Thanks!
