I went out to the South Valley Airport and the viewing was great there! Well, about as good as you'd get anywhere in the valley area anyway. It would actually be a very good place to hold a star party I'd think. There are several fields out there that are 10+ acres or more and ample parking. I got a few photos but the wind was blowing just enough to rock the tripod a bit and naturally I forgot to bring my tripod weight to settle it. Some high cirrus has drifted over about half the sky, hopefully it will clear out by totality. The 100mm ED scope has just about the perfect image scale at prime focus, f/9 = 900mm focal length. I am not using the focal reducer. _______________________________________________ Utah-Astronomy mailing list http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy Send messages to the list to Utah-Astronomy@mailman.xmission.com The Utah-Astronomy mailing list is not affiliated with any astronomy club.
