I haven't been to any star parties at the Gold Spike. It would be nice to try it out though. I've got a warm jacket, warm gloves, and of course, a warm beanie. Camping there would be nice. We'll see if I can make it happen. I gotta take care of my mom who has 3 fractured vertebrae and a plate and some pins in her leg. I'd bring her along if I could, which I will mention to her. Her and my sister would be fun to bring. Joe --- Carolyn Jolly <cmjolly@concentric.net> wrote:
Joe,
When you go to Golden Spike are the star parties at the visitors center and do you camp there?

Joe,
Be sure to come to the Golden Spike star party on 11/8 adn 11/9. We usually spend most of the night out observing. I will have several telescopes setup and you are welcome to use them. I have found that attending the star parties, even without a telescope is the best way to learn about astronomy and to find out which type and how big your telescope should be.
