[Utah-astronomy] PLBs?

Since a number of the folks on this list spend time well off the beaten path I'm wondering if anyone here has bought one of the new PLBs (Personal Locator Device) for use in summoning help in case of an emergency. They are not cheap but now that the satellites have stopped monitoring the signals broadcast by aircraft Emergency Locator Transmitters (including the one in my plane) I'm looking for a hand held unit that does work with the satellites (406 mHz) as well as ground based search teams (121.5 mHz). Any opinions? patrick
