I first met William Shatner as a teenager, just a couple of years after ST left prime-time.
He was good friends with our neighbors, the owners of Theater 138: Ariel Ballif, Tom Carlin, and Stu Falconer. Stu and my dad were fishing buddies and I would sometimes accompany them to Strawberry reservoir, often with actor H.E.D. Redford who was also an avid fisherman. We used to stop at the Hub Cafe in Heber for breakfast enroute, where I would listen to their stories.
One day Stu mentioned that Shatner was coming to town to ski (he often came here to hit the slopes) as well as attend the current play running at the theater, the musical "The Girl from Utah". He invited me to the production and I got to sit next to Shatner. After the show he autographed a model communicator I had built from scratch. It was neat to see him smile, flip it open just like he did in the series. I had to head home after that, as they all went out for cocktails and I was very underage.
Stu passed-on on my birthday in 1993. He was a very talented individual and a master with a fishing rod.

Dont know how many were aware, but William Shatner came to Kingsbury hall tonight. My wife bought me tickets and we went tonight. He is quite entertainingnto listen to. A great story teller. I got to see one of my icons from childhood...beam me up Scotty! Did anyone on this list go?
